Alert, so I am at work yesterday evening and Bonnie had already went home. I had some auto debits and other close of day stuff to do. So I take one of my spider bite pills and the nerve pills I take so I’m feeling a little dizzy. (The nerve pills make me dizzy a bit) I get an automated call that goes something like this……..
“Thank you for being a loyal ATT customer for all these years, as a token of our appreciation you are eligible to receive a 50 dollar discount on your next billing cycle. Just log in to your account and accept the ATT-50 in your account setting. Go to www.ATT50.com and log in.”
Now I’ve never been had by any of these stupid scams and I can detect them in advance. Some of them are quite clever. But I live by the NOBODY GIVES FREE SHIT AWAY rule and have been good for it. But since I was feeling a little silly I go in there and try and log in. I enter my number, last 4 and as I was going to enter my password I thought twice.
So I call ATT and they verify that it’s a scam. ATT never asks for you last 4 when logging in.
The screen was IDENTICAL in every way to ATTs log in screen other than the option for the last 4 of the social. I called ATT immediately just in case.
Just thought I’d warn anyone who I can.
The number that Caller Id got was 800-000-0000.
Ya, I was almost a dumb ass. I blame the meds.
