to my fv gamer friends, do not click on the ad for fv2 stating if you download this we will give you 500 farm bucks, it is a scam. I tried it and almost lost my whole operating system likly my computer said that it was a damaging and threating malware. I stopped it from downloading and clicked out of it but it took me 2 hours to get my fb back. so be careful as to what you are actually clicking on it just may not be legitimate. hope this helps everyone.

Beware a fishing text scam from Seven Seventeen CREDIT UNION ALERT
Attention this is a SCAM:
This is a text message Seven Seventeen Credit Union users are receiving.
(CREDIT UNION ALERT) Your VISA Card has been block. Please call our customer service at 330-503-3984
Please do not call or give out any information!
I praise God. I did not call back for it. I forgot all about it until the news just said it is a fraud fishing scam to get you to call in in order to get more personal info from you
These texts aren’t being targeted to people with accounts at any particular place, they are being sent out to random phone numbers in the hopes that someone will follow through and provide information. This is an email that Seven Seventeen Credit Union sent out about this issue today: ALERT: FRAUDULENT TEXT MESSAGE
If you ever receive a text message with a general statement saying “Credit union Alert,” “Bank Alert,” “Financial Alert,” “Credit Card Alert,” etc. that says your credit or debit card has been deactivated and then gives you a number to call, do not respond. Instead, call Seven Seventeen or any other financial institution with which you might have a card at a number you know to be valid and tell them about the message.
This is a fraudulent text message. The message does not specify Seven Seventeen specifically and is a broader phishing attempt. These are fraudulent messages, and have recently been appearing in our area. The fraudsters play a numbers game where they hope their message goes to someone that has a debit card and the individual will assume that it is related to their financial institution and will follow instructions in providing sensitive information.
Do not respond to unsolicited text messages, email messages or telephone calls that ask for any account information or other private information. Seven Seventeen will never contact you by email, text message or phone call to ask you to update or verify your account information. If you think your Seven Seventeen accounts have been compromised, please call our TeleServices Department at 330-372-8100, 330-726-0344, 330-793-2495, 330-677-0001, 330-492-1106, or 800-775-7741.
There’s a problem with your windows computer is not real and phone scam
Okay. SCAM ALERT.
Not sure if anyone has had this happen recently but I just got a call from phone number 425-668-9652 claiming to be a MS windows tech saying that I may have downloaded something malicious to my windows computer and I they said they had the license they needed to confirm what mine was on the screen.
“There’s a problem with your windows computer.” How do you know this I asked? I didn’t call you. “Your computer told us you have a virus.” What? Seriously? (None of my computers have my phone number. I figure if I need my computer to call me, then there’s a serious problem beyond the skills of a guy named Bob with a distinct Indian accent.)
So I started asking questions about what kind of computer this was from and she said windows so I asked if she was sure and she said yes and it was coming from supposedly my IP address on the windows computer and it was registering on their system then I told her she must be wrong. I don’t have a windows computer…I have a MAC. She says “ummmm. Okay sorry to bother you. Click”
BEWARE of this bc it sounds like a scam. Do not give anyone any info about your computer.
I didn’t get a chance to ask the name if the company before they hung up and her name. If this happens make sure you ask the company name.
it was a scam! They got money from her & put a virus on her computer. I thought they were targeting senior citizens.
Please post so this gets out.

Pricesmart Card has expired and can be re-newed is a phone scam and fake
BEWARE another SCAM
A female voice, claiming to be calling from PRICESMART, is contacting persons on the pretext that their Pricesmart Card has expired and can be re-newed, over the phone, once you give them your credit card information. The person is also claiming, in some cases, that your credit card has also expired and this too can be re newed once they have your credit card information as there is an arrangement between Pricesmart and a particular bank. The particular bank has been notified and hopefully will put out a release as they claim that there is no such agreement between Pricesmart and themselves. Unfortunately no contact has as yet been made with Pricesmart as their “line 5 Business” requires that “you leave a message.” Some people are being offered the chance to win big screen TV’s if they give their credit card information.
If you receive any calls like this just HANG UP!!
receiving US Airlines,American Airways or American TAD airfare vouchers is a scam and not real
SCAM ALERT: I’ve gotten two airline offers in my mailbox. Have you gotten any?
BBB warns that consumers are receiving fraudulent airfare vouchers in the mail for two round-trip airline tickets to anywhere in the United States. The check voucher appears legitimate and may list “US Airlines”, “American Airways” or “American TAD” as the issuing travel companies. The mailer will include a phone number and a deadline to redeem the voucher, and may claim “we have attempted contacting you on several occasions. This will be your last chance to respond.” Recipients are instructed to call and redeem the voucher for a travel certificate, but in the end, are really just giving scam artists access to personal information. BBB advises consumers to never give out their credit card numbers, Social Security numbers or bank account information to pay for fees, taxes or shipping costs for anything that they may have won or are getting for free. A true sweepstakes will not make its winner pay fees.

www.argos-tvgiveaway.biz is a Argos giving away scam website
Hi everyone, we have just been made aware of two competitions on a fake Facebook page claiming to be Argos.
One is to win a pair of GHD hair straighteners and the other to win the new iPhone. Please be aware that neither competitions or the page have anything to do with us.http://www.facebook.com/pages/Argos/123434324493725 This is not official Argos page and we are working with Facebook to get it verified.
I went to the website www.argos-tvgiveaway.biz which asked me to complete a survey to win a samsung 1080p 50 Inch tv.
Always look at the page title, the fake one’s always appear to have a full stop after the name.
people are stupidly gullible – no app for solving that.
Lots of my friends have liked n shared this page will this have any effect on their social media profile.
The other page is obviously fake… don’t know how people don’t spot these things!
I don’t trust it at all.. Anyway I often goes to the Argos stores for buy anything I wanted…
To the people querying if the real” Argos is a scam page, well one has 715k likes, the other has 1.5k likes. I’ll let you work that one out eh? also the content of the legit page varies from all of their products and offering advice as well as regular comments, compared to the scam page that is “giving away” free crap because “the packaging has been broken” asking for likes and shares. If you still can’t work out who the real page is then you shouldn’t be allowed near the internet and Mrs Mugabe the President of the Zimbabwe bank has some money for you but needs your details first.
Have a great evening!

my Connect Card had been cloned is a scam and not real
Dear Friends A Warning There are some nasty and deceitful people out there! Early yesterday afternoon I received a phone call from someone claiming to be Police Officer, a Detective Constable at Paddington Police Station. (This roused my suspicions as the last time I had been in London was in 2005 and then fleetingly, plus he didn’t sound like a police officer). He believed my Connect Card had been cloned and I must contact my bank. Much toing and froing between bank, Kent Police, The Met and The Fraud Action Force and back to the bank. I have stopped my existing Connect card and am awaiting a completely new one and I will also change my Pin number. Evidently this is a well known scam. Please Beware!

According to this message, which is circulating rapidly on Facebook, popular actress Angelina Jolie has died after an operation. The message urges fans to click a link to watch an “inspirational message” from Angelina.
However, Angelina Jolie is not dead and alive.. The message is a scam designed to trick Facebook users into installing a rogue Facebook application and participating in bogus online surveys.

However, installing the app will spam out the same fake death message to all of the users Facebook friends.
And, users will still not get to see the video. Instead, they will be taken to a third-party website and asked to complete one or more surveys as “Facebook Verification” before seeing the video.
